Yes, thats right. Guess the real name for Adobe's new cool wicked tool codenamed Thermo and win a free copy of Flex 3 in Action. The rules are simple :
1) Must live in Canada Or America
2) Guess the name either via commenting here (leave your name/email for sure) or emailing Faisal at g-unix.com with the subject THERMO CONTEST.
3) The person that guesses the closest to the actual name wins the book. It will be shipped out to you via Amazon. No charge for you :)

Let the guessing begin!
Thanks to Nathan for pointing out that people are submitting their emails. The admin console wasnt showing them, but there in the sql database. So keep on guessing :). PS Ryan has posted a hint, its in the comments!

Can't take this anymore -- Rant on Microsoft and Windows
I was reading MSFN today and i came across a couple of articles about some "COOL" (sarcasm ofcourse) features in windows 7 like desktop slideshow which generates slideshows from images or feeds. All that is well and good but what bothers me is why does anyone care , why is microsoft even saying this shit at conferences and stuff.

Honestly, a user will want to buy windows vista/7/8/9...[on and on] not because of the cool retarded gadgets it has, for example a stupid review on Windows 7 pre beta showed the cool new calculator, or the cool new minesweeper game. WHO Gives a shit, the same goes for steve jobs who for some reason instead of showing off the iPhone hardware, shows off a goddamn forsaken calculator at WWDC (thats a whole other rant).

Where was I, the user will want to buy a new OS based on how better it is in terms of performance compared to its predecessor. I'm not saying Microsoft doesnt make good products, and I'm also not saying Microsoft does not make changes performance wise to its operating systems, what bothers me is the amount of press and publicity stupid things like http://www.withinwindows.com/2008/11/03/windows-7-to-let-users-create-a-desktop-slideshow-from-files-rss-feeds/
get.

Leave that developing to the general developer Microsoft, stop wasting time developing that garbage, instead use those resources in proper kernel development, better security features. I'm really positive if Microsoft forgets about developing garbage like a shiny new calculator or a shiny new gadget bar , but spends time in the core windows performance features, users will buy the OS.

Congratulations Obama
Even though I am not an American citizen, not African-American or even live in America , there is a sense of pride that comes when you see one of the finest politicians win the title of the president. Not only has Obama showed that he has what it takes to be a president , he has also shown that anything is possible if you put in some effort. Makes me proud as a citizen of this planet to see Obama will be changing this world for the better of it.
