Difficulties of being a Student and a Visionary/Entrepreneur
I see myself as a Visionary and Entrepreneur , with AndSpot and another super top secret project I'm working on -which by the way are turing out to be revolutionary- , University comes in between of many things. Now I don't mean the "work-load" of university but I mean the administrative things. For example, I got invited to speak at a conference, its a 4 day conference (Ill post more details when its fully confirmed), So i got invited and for me this is a huge opportunity. A Massive one. Ill be speaking about ColdFusion, Android, ORM, AIR all sorts of crazy integration/mash-up between those technologies. Now the problem is getting the university to realize how big of an opportunity this is for me, since the 4 days im missing I might have an exam one of those days. Another example was when I had to speak at the toronto flex user group, the University kept a math test on the same day (which was decided after I accepted the user group talk), that was a complicated situation to explain to the university. I wonder what Bill Gates did when he was starting Microsoft and was in University.. Oh wait he dropped out :)

Urgent Need for a MXNA alternative . aka we need to create something better
MXNA use to rock, but have noticed lately that its become somewhat weak and brittle. It keeps crashing, giving 500's and stuff. I think its time we get together and create a good solid mxna alternative. On launch day well have all the current blogs being aggregated and well continue to add more like mxna does. If your interested leave a comment and well get something cool running in no time.

Free software microsoft .. yea right

According to good old Microsoft the dreamspark program :  "The program is now available to more than 35 million college students in Belgium, China, Finland, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States"

Way to go Steveo , so you get Finland (i don't have anything against you guys) on the program but you get one university from Canada on the program?. What about the rest of the thousands of universities, and what about the young developers in Canada. You guys go to Finland and get a list of Universities from there, but you cant travel a couple hours north (Canada) and get a list of Universities from here, hell you don't even have to travel god dammit, you just call OUAC and get a list of freaking universities from here.

Dont Put Your Eggs In One Basket
Silverlight and The Flash Platform
A long time ago , one of my teachers told me not to put all your eggs in one basket. I looked at him and gave a puzzled look and said "im not a farmer". Now obviously I know what this means, and ive learned to apply this "formula" to daily life and most importantly programming. Recently after the announcement on our home page that says G-uniX Supports silverlight development, ive gotten a few requests from clients to build silverlight applications. I.M.O Silverlight still has a long way to go before it can compete directly head on mono-e-mono with the flash platform, but nonetheless it is still a cool tool to produce rich web applications on . As a developer , i advise other developers not to soley ride on the adobe bandwagon, Im not an adobe hater, i love adobe ,flex , flash and i dream to some day work at adobe but by broadening your skills you open yourself to more challenges and in turn more income.

Cloverfield
Worth The Wait..
Just got home from seeing the movie, pretty cool if you ask me. A couple of my buddies got motion sickness because of the Blair with project shaky cam effect, but to me it seemed a unique way of getting the audience to relate to the movie and become part of the events. Its 5/5 for me, great movie .

Ebay Widget Contest Rules Confusion ?
I was reading the contest rules , and i came across something that seems really confusing. At first they are saying to use their ebay api, but in the next point they say cannot use cached ebay data including shopping api .

WIDGET REQUIREMENTS:
  • Widget must be built using Adobe Flash or Flex;

  • Widget must include eBay Data (as defined below) acquired through eBay Shopping API (using eBay Trading API is not allowed);

  • Widget may not use cached eBay Data, (meaning any data returned by the eBay Shopping API, including, but not limited to, bid price, gallery image, Buy-It-Now price, listing end time, eBay Seller ID, and item description);

Can anyone clarify this for me?
